Conditions of Entry

All paintings accepted will be exhibited at the Sherbrooke Art Society Gallery

1. The Exhibition is open to all financial members of the Pastel Society of Victoria, Australia.

2. Members can submit a maximum of 2 (two) Pastel paintings in total (pairs of paintings not accepted eg. diptych). Refer to the Fees and Commissions page for sizes.

3. Paintings must be professionally framed with ‘hanging wire’ fitted (rope not accepted) and with D-rings only & no projecting screws.

4. Paintings must be framed under glass – no perspex permitted. (Perspex is not archival and is highly electrostatic. It can attract the pastel dust onto the surface of the perspex and is therefore not suitable for framing soft pastel artworks.)

5. Original work only – No physical assistance with the work is permitted. Copies of other artists’ work or the use of any photographs used for inspiration not taken by the artist, or without written permission given by the photographer, contravenes the Copyright Act and will not be accepted.

6. Aside from self portraits, the sitter’s name and signature is required, as an indication of having their portrait on display.

7. Mixed media works are accepted, providing the work is 80% Soft Pastel.

8. After the closing date NO changes will be made to paintings, painting titles or prices.

9. A Entry Fee as detailed in the Fees and Commissions section will be charged and is payable for each art work on entry. Entry Fees are not refundable.

10. ALL works must be for sale. A commission, detailed in the Fees and Commissions section of this website, will be deducted from the catalogue price if the work is sold.

11. All Exhibition entrants must submit a high resolution photograph/s of their painting/s BEFORE framing.
The image shall be edge-to-edge of the painting. Matting or framing must not be visible. The photographs must be taken ‘square on’. If the photo is not of acceptable standard the painting will not be included in the Exhibition. There will be no refund.

12.1  Fill out the online Annual Exhibition 2024 | Entry Form on our Annual Exhibition webpage

14. Artists will be required to provide their contact numbers, email address, and EFT payment details for payment of sold artworks. Artists will be asked to nominate their Artist Status (Hobbyist, ABN/GST, ABN/No GST). 17. All artworks are displayed at the discretion of the Pastel Society of Victoria Inc. We reserve the right to not hang artworks that are deemed inappropriate.

18. The PSVA will take care in the handling of Artwork but will not be held responsible for any damage to any Artwork submitted.

19.
