Emily Holsman

For Emily, it has always been important to express herself creatively. As a child, family outings were to the opera, ballet, theatre and art galleries. Birthday presents were often art books and later, Emily would buy a beautiful piece of pottery, glassware or the like, with the birthday money she was given.

For the past 15 years, Emily has been painting with pastels. At times she experiments with oil pastels, but soft pastels are her first love. She also draws daily with graphite and coloured pencils.

Living on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula provides her with a rich source of inspiration and challenge. She enjoys painting a wide range of subjects, from boats, pelicans, seascapes and animals, to horses, people, still lives, portraits and landscapes.

Emily has a successful small business marketing a range of her images as art cards, postcards, bookmarks and limited edition prints.

She has won various awards, exhibits in local art shows and galleries on the Mornington Peninsula and receives commissions.

For Emily, a life without art is a life without colour.
