Isabelle McKenzie

Isabelle has had an interest in Art throughout her life. She majored in Fine Arts at Melbourne University, but it was not until her children had grown up that Isabelle found the time to commence painting herself. She has painted in oils under the tutelage of Paul MacDonald-Smith since 2006 and has recently taken up pastels and joined Danielle Robertson’s class. Both classes have been with Glen Eira and Cheltenham Art Group.

As a relative newcomer to pastels, Isabelle has developed a passion for their vibrancy and colour intensity. Isabelle enjoys painting a diverse range of subjects, especially landscapes, which are often inspired by her travels within Australia and overseas. She is keen to continue to paint in both mediums.

Isabelle retired from a career in teaching in 2018. She also joined the Pastel Society of Victoria late in 2018. She is looking forward to having more time to develop her painting skills as well as more time with her family and in the garden.
